I liked the cha design and the melee... the ropey server connection was what killed it for me. I think I smashed it for about 3 days, then dropped it.
I fall into this camp.
In all honesty, I wasn't expecting anything mind blowing. Blair Witch was average, Observer was pretty good (but terribly optimized)... I assumed this would fall into the same camp really.
I'll be picking it up and giving a go myself, I pay for a GamesPass subscription, so it seems silly not to at least have a taste... and in all honesty, what else have I got to play for the time being?
Bloober don't seem particularly good at optimizing their games. I played through Observer on PS4 pro and it ran badly, massive frame drops. But on the other hand, I still really enjoyed the game... it was really atmospheric and a bit different to play. I am hoping this is the same.
They are not obligated to enjoy Miles more just because you did. They are very different types of games that appeal to different people.
I am glad you asked this and people responded. I had no idea either, I have just added Man Eater and will do so with these when they go live. I have a feeling it will be a while until I can get my grubby hands on a PS5 to play them.
Apart from the "push the big block" ending. I found that tedious.
Praise the sun for people like you. I usually rely on outside help to get through a lot of tough areas... because I suck but love them anyway.
I think you probably answered your own thoughts. Spidey has the benefit of being exclusively optimised for a single platform. With that comes the benefits of really honing into the consoles strengths and getting the most out of it.
I am sure it can be done across multiplats, but it'll just take more work... so probably won't begin to happen until further into the console gen, when everyone has it all figured out.
I blame Sony for one thing and one thing only.
Shutting down Studio Liverpool and my favourite franchise of them all... WipeOut :(
I am playing it on XSX at the moment. There is notably less screen tearing, but it still does happen in certain areas noticeably.
But beyond graphic/FPS performance (which could be better, but Ubisoft games seldom are)... The most noticeable problems this game has are still there. I still have NPCs running on the spot in cut scenes, I have "follow me" NPCs get stuck on rocks/foliage forcing a reload, I have birds flying into bridges (lol)
I am envious of how much time you get to game! I bought in on the XBSX which came out a week earlier than the PS5 here... I have only clocked in about 30 hours on Valhalla, and that has taken me way past my normal bed time!
@mechethegoat
I can confirm that Screen Tearing is definitely happening in 60FPS mode on XBSX. I am about 30 hours in myself (on said console) and it occurs frequently in cut scenes and large turning circles. It's not ruin my fun, but it is very noticeable.
I've 5.2.2 with atmos... I find even this to be impressive. Your amp must be a badass!
I am guilty of this. Especially with digital copies. I had 2TB external drive... I filled that with so many prospective "I might play this" games.
I do find though, if there are a few multiplayer games I like to dip into, it's hard to delete them. On my current PS4 I have about 8 I like to cycle. Some of them (COD *cough) take up egregious amounts of space.
It was frustrating when an in game button would lead to opening that damn web browser... I say good riddance.
Consoles don't generally have amazing games at launch. They're usually tech demos (Rise son of Rome comes to mind), or just a bit of an arbitrary "game" like Knack.
Last gen the one I wanted to pick up most was Killzone, which was pretty good and kept me going until more came. This gen I would say Demon Souls looks to be the best of the bunch... which I can't have as I haven't been able to get a PS5 yet. For now I got an XBSX coming... so I gues...
I missed the PS5 pre-orders.
I'll suck it up and buy one at a later date when I can. If I am lucky, bundled with a game.
Same. I snoozed and missed the PS5 orders. I have an XSX ordered because "I just had to have" one of them :P
It looks like a lot of fun. I can see myself messing about in the track editor a lot.
At this rate the slim model will be out by the time my hands get hold of one.
